The Windsurf ended its journey in the port of Civitavecchia right outside of Rome, and we woke up, ate breakfast and then hurried to the train station to catch our train to Naples. As usual, we made it to the station and to our correct gate in the nick of time, and hopped onto our train almost immediately.
Joe catching up on his Italian phrases while wearing his "travel socks." It was 80 degrees outside!
we had our own compartments and Joe felt like he was Harry Potter
I passed out on the train and had a delightful nap. We arrived in Naples and found our rental car place. Naples is a very scary little place that I hope I never go back to! We loaded up into our stick shift Ford Focus and (after we almost went forward instead of reversing and barely missed crashing into a telephone pole) we were off! Joe gave me a map and said I had to help navigate, but I was so scared of the crazy traffic that I pretty much just stared straight ahead and couldn't function until Joe found his way to the interstate.
